Summary:

In the future a man seeks out on an adventure to find another version of his android wife. Within this era of time it has become the norm for people to have robotic life partners. These android wives are to represent the perfect lover, friend, and wife that any man could ask for. With the help of a female renegade tracker the man is able to find a version of his wife which is a Cherry 2000, but soon realizes that his true love is for the renegade tracker.

The world is depicted as how the year 2017 would look and technologies would be used envisioned from the year of 1987. The norm of dating consists of man dating robotic forms of women who are programed and ran by a microchip that is placed within their ears. These android versions of women are used for prostitution or substitute wives.

  • Description of the technology: Cherry 2000 is a limited edition android version of the perfect woman. She is programed to tend to her lovers every want, need, and desire. She cooks, cleans, and compliments her lover very often. She functions through the placing of a microchip behind her ear which stores her memory. Without the microchip she is just simply a lifeless doll.
  • Nature of task or activity: Cherry does all of the household duties that a regular housewife would which includes cooking, cleaning, and sexually satisfying her lover whenever he desired.
  • Performance of the Technology: Within the movie this particular Cherry 2000 model short circuits during sex on a wet kitchen floor with her lover. Due to this malfunction her lover seeks out for help in repairing her. He is told that she is not able to be fixed so he ventures out to find another limited edition version of her. He succeeds in the end and places her microchip with her memory into the new Cherry 2000 which brings back his old Cherry 2000.
